since I'm talking about pets...

Say hello to Alice the alley cat - the girls and I found her last Wednesday on a walk behind the local high school, literally in an alleyway. As you can see, her ear appears to be ruined, but we'll see how it responds to treatment. She's emaciated and weak, 5.7 lbs., hugely friendly. We came back on Thursday to get her but it was raining and she was nowhere to be found. Went again Friday around 3:30 after I was out of work and found her. We put her in the cat carrier and took her straight to the vet. She's clear of feline leukemia and other worrisome diseases, since I have other animals and couldn't have her around them until she was cleared. She has a bacterial infection of the ear. She sleeps a lot and eats and knows how to use a litter pan. She's so friendly that she's had to be a pet at one time.

I completely understand. Had nightmares every night this week because of my Boo being sick. I can't stand when they're in pain!

Aw, she is so cute! She's lucky that you guys picked her up, too. We once had a Calico...My boys each got to pick a name for her. My oldest picked "Spots" and my youngest boy picked "Eyeball". (I think he was about two at the time.) So she was Spots Eyeball. (Er, we mostly called her Spots.)

"Spots Eyeball" - love it! My girls call her Alice and middle name Eve, but someone here at the flist referred to her as Sweet Alice, which I really like:)

Oh, poor sweet kitty! I'm so glad she's found a home with you and your family. Her coloring reminds me of my cat Fluff - spoiled old thing, but I loved her dearly.

This made me cry and I don't know whether I'm crying for her suffering or because she's been rescued and is going to be loved to bits now.

It's possible she got in a fight and then got lost. Maybe her original owners wish they could find her. But now she has you to look after her.

I miss my own kitties so much, but they all went to Kitty Heaven, where they get to lie around in the sun all the time, with no worries... Wait! They did that anyway. :-)))

I had gotten to the point where all my kitties had gotten old and died, but I have kids, and they wanted a certain kitten from a litter - and then my friend had a litter, and brought me one, and in a nutshell, here I went again, with another bunch of cats. I love them so much, but I've seen a lot of them pass on and it's hard. But it IS nice knowing they get to have a home with me and no worries, just like your kitties had:))
