So I FINALLY finished my story for the zine I'm doing. I sent it off to my betas with fear in my heart (because that's the way I am, and these women are tough. Good, but tough) and I get one reply with a reasonable amount of edits and a lot of compliments. Very wonderful compliments, coming from this lady, because I know she won't lie to me. She said she got a lot of "physical reactions" !!!!!**&! (so I guess my sex scenes weren't laughable) and not all were just sexual, either.  I hope it didn't want to make her puke!

My other beta lady gave me a few edits and not much in the way of comments at all, so I'm wondering if the story isn't to her taste.  That's me, always wondering if I've fallen short somehow. There is no peace for the perpetually esteem-challenged.  (Otherwise known as the "oh I suck" syndrome.)  No matter, my heart tells me the story is pretty fucking damned good, so I'm going to believe my heart for now.

I'm having this horrible itch to do an AU type story where I really just half-way kill Mr. Hutchinson.  I mean, go for it, down and dirty, put him through hell, strip him of his humanity.  Can you see a pretty blond Hutchinson half-dead in the dirt somewhere? Then maybe I can have Starsky bring him back.  Wonder why I've got such a powerful urge to lay the guy so low? (Pheral's probably all happy with the whumping thoughts, aren't you?;)

Then I've got these VIDS in my head that won't go away.  About three for S&H and about the same for ASJ.  I have pretty concrete ideas for all of them, never mind all the other songs floating around I'd like to play with.  What's a person to do? There is NOT enough time in the world!

Would love to read whatever whumping you come up with though, cos i guess at least starsky would get to comfort and angst. i'll take what i can get. :D

oh man, I hate to bother you about such a silly little question like this, especially without having any sort of dialogue with you for, like, months and months, but I was actually wondering what program you used to rip your dvd source to vid/editing format? Am beginning vidding myself, but am running into complications with transferring the dvd vob files and converting them to avi - can't seem to find a program to do exactly what I need. Any advice?

Also, I was looking back over some of your older entries, and I really like the fic you posted! I know that you said your drunken slash story is going to be in a zine (?), which whee, awesome! But have you decided to continue the After Gillian arc at all? I really enjoyed reading both of those, plus the Shootout AU.

And, um...d'ya mind if I friend you? I am a friendly person :)

I have converted an online friend of mine to the S&H love through your vids! Just like all it took to get me hooked onto the show was viewing one of your vids, after she watched one of them she hopped on ebay to bid on the dvds, lol. So, your vids are one of the fandom's best pimps right now ;) We didn't even have to watch a single episode before we could tell that it was awesome, all 'cause of that stuff you do so well. So keep doing it! You rock.

Well hi yourself. You are a friendly soul, aren't you? I like that in a person.:) Friend away, it's a compliment.
As far as ripping, I'll tell you what I've used, but you could go to much more experienced vidders and get a better answer. For all the S&H vids I used Studio 9. I actually attached the dvd player to the comp and captured within the program. So, that's not much help. With the Alias Smith and Jones video, I used DVD2AVI, which is free. I don't know how well it works with pro dvds, actually, as the ASJ footage came from a friend who burned it from the Westerns channel. I know there's lots of programs out there to do the job. My best answer is to go to www.videohelp.com for some leads on programs to use. I love that place. There's something called FlaskMPEG that will do the trick, and it's listed there, but I'd check out other options listed there first.
Oh, about my fiction. The drunken slash and the After Gillian arc are all part of the same story, so it's going in the zine. I finished it and it has been betaed. Next I'm doing the trash and bash Hutchinson story, which will also go in the zine. I'd be happy to post you another excerpt, but it will be a year or so before the whole story goes online. Kind of feels weird, saying that - like I'm using my story for bait or something. Hell, I'd just as soon send you the thing, but I guess I can't do that if I'm going to produce this zine, huh.
I love that you pimped SH through my vids. I keep looking at the first two or three and thinking, uh, boring, but I must have done something right, huh? Good luck with the vidding, and I'll see you on the flist!

Oh! It's all the same story? That somehow makes it even *better*, lol. Is this for the, um...I'm going to screw up the name. Like Water, Like Fire? Like Fire, Like Ice? Something like that, lol? Well, whichever one it's going in, you don't have to post anymore excerpts...I am looking for an excuse to break into the strange and beautiful world of zines ;) It *is* pretty good bait, though. Just let me know when it's available for order? Or if there will be copies for purchase at, like, ZCon? :)

I'm hoping it will be at Zcon, but I can't be there personally. I think they have an orphan table to sell zines, though, so maybe.

lol, well, not quite that drastic ;) I was already a slash fan from other fandoms, but I just mean that your vid showed me S&H (sidenote: which, um, I consider the only 'real' slash now). I don't know. S&H has changed my life in some ways, and it's because of your vid that I found it. Craziness. You are teh awesome :)
