Happiness is Friday the 13th

So I had a lousy week. You know what makes a week better? Going to your mom's, that's what, and leaving the kids with the husband and spending the night. And ordering pizza, and staying up late and watching Friday the 13th on Friday the 13th with your 76 year old mom, and no longer being embarrassed to see people having simulated sex with one another on the screen when your mom is watching it with you. And you're in the dark because you turned the lights out, and this F13 has that great new Jason who moves so awfully swiftly with his machete, and you're watching on a fairly big screen, and your mom's not fazed by the blood and stuff, and you're both commenting about how these women should stop hopping up and down on the guys, it doesn't look like real sex, and good Lord, her breasts are so fake and WRONG, just wrong, and the rich dude is on our last nerve, can he die already?

And then there's that lovely Jared with his tight T-shirt and a motorcycle he manages to dwarf.
 

I know, it's a slasher flick, and not the slash like we like to write, either. I know some people don't and won't ever like it, but it was lit so nicely, and the guy who played Jason was awesome, the way he moved, and Clay's sister Whitney was pretty good in it, and that spooky old mine was cool, and there was Clay, and that hot little scene between Clay and the cop, and more Clay and... well hell, I just really enjoy it. I loved it when it came out and me and C went to see it and My Bloody Valentine both, and then we went again to see both and would have done it again if we'd managed to fit it in.

I enjoyed my evening with Mom, and I needed it. And I'm going to spam you with F13 stuff, right here, right now, because of tonight, and being happy.

Wow, cool mom. My mom won't go near anything too bloody. She struggled to watch In The Line Of Duty with DS, and she's a huge DS fan!

I am so behind with movies. I hadn't realized they'd remade F13 with Jared. He has such a fine body. Fab pics.

Although I am more a Jensen fan. That said, I'll take them both with their clothes off--hussy that I am. :-P

My son suggested a movie night tonight, and went through my vids. He suggested either My Bloody Valentine (but I doubt he will want to see this when he knows a lust of mine is in it) or Whiteout with AOL (still a lust, but my son says he can cope with him). He loved Moonlight as much as I did! And now watches most eppys of H-5-0. He definitely won't watch anything with DS!

I thought my mother was kind of a wuss since she loved all these Lifetime flicks, but then she got HBO and started watching True Blood. I was totally surprised, since it's full of sex and blood, but she was very blaise about it all. But Mom's always been cool.

I LOVE In the Line of Duty - it's been a while since I watched it, too. David Soul is great in it, and scary.

I would imagine a younger guy might like My Blood Valentine! No matter your case of lust:) I like that one a lot, too. When I watch them both as a double feature I watch f13 first because it's not as bloody. So I sort of build up to MBV.

I tried Moonlight but didn't watch. I do watch H50. AOL is gorgeous in it, and I like Chin a lot.

I LOVE True Blood. I am very much a vamp girl. I adore the dark side. Salem's Lot is one of my all time favs. Although, when it was first on TV, I hid behind the couch a lot - lol.

I like DS in a bad guy role. Magnum Force was the first thing I saw him in. Since then I have had a lifelong fetish for motorbike cops. His fault. Secret Of The Sahara and The Key To Rebecca are firm favs, too. That said, I love anything and everything he has done. He's my baby! :-))

I'm not so sure my son would cope with MBV, especially before bed. I'm a bit of a wimp and watched it in the morning. I hated this type of thing when I was younger. I am getting braver in my old age! Blood and gore doesn't bother me so much now.

I was so SCARED at first to watch these two movies, lol. I'd overdosed on them in the 80s (F13 among them) and got a crapload of nightmares for my troubles, so I hadn't watched any slasher flicks in a long while. Plus I have this eyeball phobia, and both the movies target the eye at some point (sigh). And I still think some of the new ones would be too hard for me to try and watch (like Saw, for example, which I'm not interested in watching anyway).

DS: Magnum Force, The FBI Murders, Salem's Lot, I love those. I too love vampires. I also love Homeward Bound and thought he was good in Dogpound Shuffle and The Stickup. I have more of his movies and shows that I haven't seen yet.

I didn't think to even ask, how old is your son? And I wondered what you ended up watching last night:)

Love all of those DS movies. I also love Tides Of War. I know it had some bad reviews, but I have seen it about 4 times since I got it earlier this year. And I admit, I love the torture scene. DS suspended and writhing in agony--bliss. Rage, Swan Song, China Hand, Casablanca - love them all. Even the cameos he has done are fab.

I have stuff of his that I still need to see. I may have seen them and just not remember. I am slowly trying to work my way through his resume. I bought So Proudly We Hail, or thought I had. I told the guy I wanted the DS one. He sent it. I sat down to watch the DVD, black and white, WTF. It wasn't DS!

My son is nearly fifteen. He will probably be a lot better than I think with MBV. Although, he isn't very keen on True Blood. Our movie night is tonight. He was at a sleepover last night. I suspect we will watch Whiteout.

I'm not really into horror movies. I only got MBV because of Jensen. I love Supernatural. I also have Land of the Dead and The Ring 2, but only because I am a Simon Baker fan, also.

So Proudly We Hail sounds familiar, but I don't know if I own it. Don't think I have China Hand or Casablanca.

He plays a german in So Proudly We Hail, I think. I never got to see it!

China Hand is also known as Harry's Hong Kong and stars Julia Nickson. That is how they met. But, I'm sure, you already know that.

True Blood season 4 has just finished on UK TV. Now awaiting s5. But I missed the first few eppys of s4. Must see if I can find it online.

And in the credits it lists Kristofer Solberg. I have yet to figure out which one he is, not having seen pictures of him since he was about 12. Unfortunately, the credits do not list character names. It would be a good twist if he is the nazi doing the torture, but I fear that actor may be too old.

I liked Friday the 13th! Plus, Richard Burgi's in it, so win-win :) And I adored My Bloody Valentine. What can I say? I like hot guys who are a bit mentally deranged. Makes for good stories!

I agree about the 'hot guys who are mentally deranged' thing - so much angst and violent potential:) I started a MBV/f13 crossover sometime ago - Clay/Tom, naturally. It's kind of surreal, writing two characters from such insane backgrounds. Probably not surprising that I loved it.

And double feature night, I love it, too - Cass and I do a rewatch of both every now and again. *nods*

I really liked the Burgi scene where he pulls Clay over. And I like Burgi more now that he's older - he was good in Harper's Island.

I wish we could get the kind of cool 3-D look for MBV that we did at the movies. Those red and blue glasses just don't cut it.

hm, not a big fan of horror/slasher movies in general but this one I might one day give a try....it has such pretty eye candy in it (besides, I've watched movies for less) ;)

I was a fan of the slasher flicks when they came out, but I was young. And they gave me nightmares, so I stopped watching them. But then here came these two movies at the same time with the SPN boys and I manned up:) - but seriously, I was worried about watching them. I did fine. Well, pretty fine. Maybe I can send you an avi copy of f13 (if you want) when I send Gods of the Arena (going to try and copy those this weekend). Thinking about sending some other stuff your way as well. Cuz I kind of adore you.

noooo, never. I actually had a great idea for the fanfic moving on to original fic that kinda scared me with 'how am I gonna make that grand idea work' but other than that, not scared ;)
I've never watched horror movies much but it doesn't need much to make me watch a movie in general that isn't on my preferred theme. Saw the fave movie caps pic of "The Covenant" on your tumblr and I remember I watched it for one reason only, that it had Kyle in it (then noticed it had Taylor Kitsch and the title track from Rob Zombie so that was enough for me :D)

I really enjoyed The Covenant, and I think Taylor Kitsch is absolutely beautiful. I liked his part in Wolverine, too.

And of course, Kyle was in the Covenant, as you said! Haven't heard of him in anything much lately.

so you've got an awesome mom, too, huh? That's great:) My mom still lives in the house I grew up in. It's quiet and relaxing, and Mom's a lot of fun. I love to visit with just me and her there.
My co-worker seems kind of shocked how we speak to each other on the phone when she calls at work - I tease her like crazy. I actually remember once when she called me a prude, haha (it was a long time ago).
