last two episodes of fx's Justified

kassidy62I just watched them. Justified is the best thing I've seen on TV since I don't remember. Nothing could be farther from the current crop of self-absorbed, self-pitying dramas I've seen. The writing is layered, complex, both in terms of plot and for the characters.
Every actor on it, no matter how small the part, does their job well, from the 14 year old kid (whose father was murdered by the Bennetts) on up. Some of them are truly gifted. Helen (sob!), Jed (I remember Richard Speight from Jericho and of course as the Trickster on SPN, but he turned this minor part on its head here), the incredible Mags (she's like a southern Al Pacino in The Godfather II), and Raylan of course (just amazing, the nuances on his faaace!). And of course there's that lovely scene custom-made for fangirls: Raylan hanging upside down, in dire straits, getting popped with the baseball bat, promptly followed by the first scene where I ever truly felt the slash between Raylan and Boyd (whose giant forehead and piano teeth chased me in my dreams like some kind of psycho pac man whenever I tried to imagine the two of them together before).
I enjoyed this so much.
I'm thinking of trying out Wilfred (with Elijah Wood) on FX when it comes on in June, too. It looks so quirky.
