ABSOLUTELY. I read an article where Sera, I think, said that they boys have always fought, and I guess it's true in a way, but they had an unthinking solidarity the first two seasons that I desperately miss.
Agreed. In S1/S2 the boys definitely had their differences and squabbles but it was backed up by the fact that we knew it was out of love or at least there was some genuine affection to balance it out.
This episode? I was bored with Sam being "weird" (yet again, because heaven forbid we get a straight Sam POV because that would remove "the mystery") and pissed as hell that Dean was deciding to be distrustful when he damn well was okay with it last year so he can get over t- or at least the writers can find a different path. They did have an adult conversation going at the end until, of course, they had to bring in the conflict. -.
