You guys know I'm a Sam girl - but I'm more than that. I'm a SamandDean girl. Dean's amazing, and these two have a chemistry you can't find on shows anymore. The boys would never be the same without each other.

But I get tired of Sam being slammed! I think this is a nice, thoughtful discussion about Sam and why we like him here (spoilery, naturally).

Just for the record, though I lean toward Dean, I love our Sam. Deeply, madly. I just don't care for his behavior lately. I'm not that wild about Dean's behavior lately, either. Just for the record. ;-)

Both characters have some less than stellar moments this year, haven't they? I don't like it but I'm fascinated by it, and by how they're falling apart. Sam's about to go really really bad, I think, and I'm backing away from all the Sam hate I know will be all over TWOP and other places. I've never appreciated that divisive thing in fandom where pitting the boys against each other and touting why one is inferior to the other goes on and on at some message boards, and there's a lot of that I've seen that gets to the point of being ridiculous very fast. Much of what I've seen is Sam hate. It's a different thing than critting the show, how's it's acted or written. It's not even about having a favorite - it's just some ugly, competitive oneups thing that ends up eviscerating the show and the relationship. It's ultimately pointless and unpleasant.

Yikes. I'm glad I haven't stumbled into that aspect of fandom. Sounds awful.
