Flashslash 62 prompt 2
He was sleeping, and the years fell away in his dream. He was... new. A baby - all feelings and hunger, succumbing to every whim of his body with a cry or a wiggle or a coo.
It was dark, the shadows from outside playing on the wall of his room, waving. He heard his mother. The sound was muffled, not a voice, not really. Just a noise, but he knew it was her. He stared up at the ceiling from his bed. Something dropped on his lip. He didn't realize what it was or what it meant, just waved his feet and looked up.
At his mother. Red, red, spreading all over her stomach. Flames burst out from her body, spreading along the ceiling. Her face was a frozen, pale mask.
Sam woke up screaming. Dean stumbled out of his bed and dropped to his knees beside him, grabbing his shoulders, shaking. "Sam! It's a dream, wake up. It's okay," and his voice was groggy, hoarse from sleep. Sam's eyes flew open and stared at Dean and didn't look away, holding to him like a lifeline until it sank in, the realization that he was awake.
Dean was here for him. Dean was always here unless Sam was running. Had been there for him for years. Sam knew how fortunate he was.
He wondered what Dean would say when Sam told him he'd dreamed about Jess, too. How she'd died. Just like his mother, pinned, bloody, face pale, frozen. Agonized.
Only he'd dreamed it before it happened.
wiggle, drop, years, fortunate

Date: 2008-04-13 03:31 pm (UTC)And you want I should pimp you in Supernatural now?;)
that would be the fourth show I think you've gotten me hooked on then? You're seriously becoming my fandom pimp here ;)
Season One is out on DVD here, will have to get it and then have me another watching marathon weekend to get a start into the show. Haven't had a good mystery show I've enjoyed since Poltergeist ended

Date: 2008-04-13 03:38 pm (UTC)Gotta warn you, though, in case you dislike it - a lot of the fiction I like is Wincest, which is slash between the brothers. I posted here before that because it's so far removed from reality, it's fiction, I love it, but I don't know how you'd feel about that for sure. But it's some of the best fan fiction I've ever read, IMO.

Date: 2008-04-13 04:12 pm (UTC)But I think I'll watch the show first and then go into fanfiction, I don't want to be disappointed if I read stuff in fics and get all excited and then it isn't like that on the show. After FedCon I'll probably get me the DVDs from my leftover money ;)
I saw some of the trailers for when it aired but since another show airs at the same time I had to choose. What I saw was great though and I love dark stuff. I'll have to see if I like the whole Wincest thing, have to read it and if it's written plausible, in fiction I don't mind stuff like that (besides there aren't that many characters to be slashed on the show so you have to take what there is and go with it).
