what if Abaddon's not really dead (I have no idea how that might have happened, just that her death seemed too easy) and possesses Sam? And Dean has to kill him to kill Abaddon?

Personally, I'm hoping for Dean to just go bat crap crazy, cutting down angels left and right with the first blade while Sam sits nearby with a bottle of tequila getting drunk and laughing his ass off.
