Yuletide question: is a treat or stocking stuffer an extra story you post for someone? Do you know where I could learn more? I swear I looked first!

As I understand it, yes. I think it's not part of the "official" rules, just something that has evolved over time.

The story should be (1) in one of the YT fandoms, and (2) given to a YT participant. This person doesn't have to be your assignment, although s/he could be.

If I'm reading this post correctly, if it's over 1,000 words, you can post it in the same way as you would your regular assignment. If it is under the minimum, you could still post it but it would have to wait for when the Yuletide Madness collection opens, which is right before xmas.

No worries; the post kind of assumes the reader knows all about treats already. Which, you know... ass... you... me... *snicker*

I did a couple of mini-treats last year. I hope I'll have time/inspiration to do some this go-round, but my brain is still stuck on finishing my S&H Advent Calendar story (which is 11,000 words and counting and OMG the longest thing I've written) so I haven't really gotten into my assignment yet (panic mode in three, two, one...). But the YT spirit is really infectious, isn't it? More fic in our special little fandoms. So happy... *bg*

congrats on that 11,000 + word story! That's a really big deal, esp so since it's the longest so far. Now I'll let you get back to work, girlee:)
