SPN episode

kassidy62I think they're getting too broad, or even ham fisted with the humor. I feel like both of the actors are encouraged to be almost cartoonish with their gestures and facial expression (Jared in particular exaggerates too much for me, lately). The subtlety is gone between them (relatively speaking). I miss it.
It's not that I totally disliked the episode. It's that I'm pretty unmoved by it and by the brothers. Being unmoved by them BOTHERS me, compared to other seasons where they moved me effortlessly. The only thing I really really liked was how lost they both looked with the doctor split them into different therapy groups.
Also: the thing at the end where Sam blames himself for the huge anger he carries around - yeah, okay, see it for what it is, but also, recognize it doesn't generally come out of thin air like bad SPORES LANDING ON A SATAN-SPAWNED SOUL.
Oh shit, is Sam's soul Satan-spawned? Tune in next week.
And Dean, poor Dean, thinks it's all up to him to save the entire world. I think that's ridiculous. And I also think the show will go EXACTLY THERE.
