Anybody ever had vids removed from youtube? They took down the Dante's Cove vid, citing what, user agreement violation (which of course is completely true and has been for all my videos). What I'm specifically wondering about is, if you have had your vid kicked off yt, did they give you some kind of notice? I'd have thought they'd have slapped my wrist or something? The vid had about 110,000 hits in a month, so I was both happy, awed, and more uncomfortable by the moment, you know?

Aaand I think I have a stalker boy at yt. He keeps inviting me over and over to the groups he's joined, to subscribe to him, etc.  He watches some pretty graphic stuff and more what I'd consider porn so I've pretty much ignored him.

Broad term, isn't it? Not obscene or pornographic. This is interesting. I need to check on some of those vids stalker boy has been sending - wonder if they're marked private or public? Because some of them, wow.

And since youtube has this clause in the TOS: 
YouTube reserves the right to decide whether Content or a User Submission is appropriate and complies with these Terms of Service for violations other than copyright infringement, such as, but not limited to, pornography, obscene or defamatory material, or excessive length. YouTube may remove such User Submissions and/or terminate a User's access for uploading such material in violation of these Terms of Service at any time, without prior notice and at its sole discretion.

Says it all. 

I'd like to be clear: I am not angry or feel as if I've been singled out or "done wrong." The vid is very provocative. I expected it to be taken down in the first week, to tell the truth. But when it didn't, I had hopes it would last awhile after all.

 I am curious, though, about other graphic vids at youtube, but at least now I understand that the vid wasn't removed for copyright infringement and actually I feel better about that part of it (I know the network isn't 'out to get me').

makes you wonder what specifically pointed that vid out amongst all the others on youtube - well, besides the fabulous quality . . .

oh that's all you need - to get all "subscribed" to someone . . . me and the lovely Cass will visit you in the pokey - HEY! Your fic will sell like hotcakes if you can call it a "prison journal" . . . tee hee!

Am silly today - sitting at work in my Huggy hat (my only nod to Halloween) and saying "what it is?" to people who don't deserve to know . . .

go on to the store, get some dry ice while you're at it. And a cauldron to make it in. put the gelation and boiling water in first, then add the rest (oh and the pineapple juice is supposed to be cold, too). And bring it over here. How long to TN?

dunno if it makes it slushy, never tried it. But I'm gonna, probably this weekend. I think it'll make it taste GREEN. Yum.

re youtube - it depends on why the vid was kicked off.

if it was because of an IP infringement claim filed by the IP holder = they have to notify you.

if it was because of something else (ex explicit material or any other aspect of the user agreement), then I would look at Youtube's terms of service to see what they saw about notice. I suspect they say they can unilaterally remove without notice.

I know almost nothing about youtube...

... but my sympathies. That doesn't seem very nice, to remove your video without at least giving you notice. And one of the few things I do know about youtube is that they appear to have a wide variety of videos with lots of copyrighted materials being used. So, I don't get why your video.

I had a great Hallowe'en, even though I had to work until 10PM, as usual. But the driver of the bus when I went to work was dressed as Gollum, and kept muttering about Nasty Hobbitses and My Precious. :-)))

youtube's video removals have always seemed rather arbitrary. I've noticed re: the Dante's Cove videos that it is *very* hit or miss - some of the music vids have been up a good long time, and then some just disappear, and I wish I understood more of their "whys."

I'd loved to have seen someone dressed as Gollum:)
