And Supernatural vid recs:)
Apr. 27th, 2008 01:53 pmI bet these won't come as a surprise to you. I bet they're recc'd everywhere, but I don't know and it doesn't matter. I don't feel as if I can do them justice, but here's the thing, even without my offering (or feeling knowledgeable enough to offer) detailed commentary, I want to tell you how I love these vids, that they say something to me and that I feel so damned lucky to be able to see and enjoy such talent. I've watched these numerous times and will do so many more, and both of the vids also feel relevant to what I was saying in my prior post about the ending of S2 and what the cost is and how I'm worried by what is happening.

The first one is "Sell My Soul" by destina and barkley (music by Our Lady Peace) - It's so fucking grim and beautiful in its starkness - Sam's changing, and I don't know where he's going and if he'll survive it, what Dean's sacrifice has done to him. Which is so heartbreaking, because Dean's sacrifice was meant to save him, not destroy him.

The second one is "You Know You're Right" by lierdumoa (song by Nirvana)- the quick cuts are amazing, the song's perfect - it's Dean and, shit, you know, the vidder made Sammy's eyes BLACK and I didn't know that wasn't actually in the episode! (won't go into more detail so I won't spoil it for anyone, but you'll know it when you see it, unless you see the vid like I did, before the episode) lierdumoa also offers a link to specs and effects, if you're of a mind - I do know one thing - there was a lot of things that went into the making of this vid that I'm glad to read about, because it puts me even more in awe of the work that was put into it. LABOR OF LOVE, oh yes.
