Like Water, Like Fire
Oct. 4th, 2005 07:37 amAh, home sweet home. My journal. I've missed my small circle of pals here. I've been all about the zine for the past months - trying to edit, format the beast. Ran into some glitches that kept me up at night. Literally. Trying to get it done last week, I got next to no sleep. Sometimes I had to go to bed because my thinker refused to think anymore.
Then, I had to find someone to print it. Flamingo (who has been completely supportive and is just wonderful) gave me the name of her printer but I found someone here for cheaper that will do more of what I had in mind. Alas, the cost is large. Larger than what I anticipated. What with the costs involved and shipping I have to wonder how Kerri and Flamingo and other zine producers keep doing what they do.
Anyway, I've already got a kind of rapport with the fellow who's given me estimates and such, which is always nice.
I was completely embarrassed to tell people that I'm doing a zine for a show with homoerotica. I'm just backwards, #1, and #2, I'm just backwards. I mean I was literally mortified. It's like I showed them my peepee.
Anyway, looks like I've got a printer and will be done in plenty of time for Zebracon. I'll post more up about the zine, maybe some excerpts or something, as I go along. Can't wait to see the proof.
