'Writer's Post Journal' is pubbing my story, 'The Hook'. I thought I had gotten off Scott-free with my sexual references, but no. Got a note from them asking me to revise it and send back in three days. But you know, I can live with it, though I'm not thrilled. IMO the edit takes some of the power from it, but not as much as I feared.

Funniest thing was seeing the illustration for the story. I didn't even realize they WERE illustrating it, and a artist who'd just joined the horror artists group was assigned it. I saw her illustration and thought, 'my God, did someone else write a similar story?' Stress!

I've been having a hard time writing lately, and there's always so much to do. Plus I'm LAZY. So I started a fan fic, and it is helping me get back into the swing of things. Wahoo!

And yes, I left my poor hubby all by himself with the 5 kids last night. My lovely sis-in-law has some beautiful children, but they're wild beasts! I've never seen ANYTHING like it- nonstop, massive energy. Smart-ass mouths to go with it. In spite of that, they're good kids and I love them. I'm going to miss them - they're going back to Maryland today. They hubby came back in with them all at about 10:30 last night, and they played with some sparklers and watched Shrek 3-D on our make-shift big screen projector.

This week while I'm off, my goal is to write some each day. So far so good. Wish me luck.
