spn episode 7.04

I am becoming silent online. So I thought I'd say something. I agree with [livejournal.com profile] giandujakiss - Dean's angst and guilt has been overkilled, and for me it's been that way for a long time, but this episode worked for him, I'm relieved to say. They didn't drown us in it, and Dean was very affecting in the episode. Jo was all right, inasmuch as she was allowed to be. I've not been a fan of bringing on other old gods in the show, so far, and that continues, maybe because they're like a quickly written solution to putting out another episode instead of something inspired. I wish they'd maintain more of a continuity thread through the episodes, more references to leviathans, maybe, and also maybe quit using Sam pressing his hand as a ready go-to when Sam hears Luci - already feels like a stunt.

Even with the secret between the guys, it's good to see them together this way. I had this thought that it'd be awesome if Dean's secret was outed during the trial and Sam still managed to defend him, but oh well. I'll wait and see what they're going to do with this.

I loved the first two episodes of the season, by the way. The 2nd the very best:)

Unfortunately, wallowing in Dean's angst, and conveniently ignoring the season's Big Bad for several episodes at a time is something Show has been handing us for...what, 4 years now? So I doubt that's something that's going to go away anytime soon, if ever. I put it down as "It's what they do. Now, what else is there?"

I thought the scenes between Dean and Jo were absolutely gorgeous, and nicely played by Jensen and Alona. Thought Osiris was a hoot. Loved Sam building his defense on things he'd seen on "The Good Wife." And I think I'll take the other POV from you, Kass - out of the 4 we've seen so far, 7.02 was my least favorite, although I did enjoy it. I'm LOVING this season, which is a really welcome feeling, because I really had trouble even tolerating S5 and S6.

I tolerate all the seasons fine - in between pulling out my hair;)

As for 7.02, yeah, we've def. got different POVs on it. I thought it was seriously excellent characterization, some really creepy mind games for Sam, and it made me hopeful for the rest of the season. Then 7.03 just hopped right over all the possible h/c they'd generated at the end, drat it all.

As for Osiris, he fell flat for me - like he's a plugin for a fairly forumulaic episode.
