almost 48 hours and counting
I'm without power - I'm posting from work. It's been unbelievable around here this year. There are trees torn up and *thrown* everywhere, seems like. Took me 15 minutes worth of detours to get to my mother's house today thanks to downed trees, roadwork and a freak incident involving a Budweiser beer truck. hahahahaa ... sigh.
I saw a tree come down in the alley back of my house, complete with power lines and sparks galore. 127,000 people out of power here the first day - that's 65% of the users in the area. We're down to 30,000 left without power, and I'm in it, so's my mother and a good friend. Oh, the people across the street have power, jeez;)
Here's hoping it comes back soon - the refrigerator and freezer stuff are ruined, I have clothes in the wash (ugh) and ... I don't even. Not dealing with the heat very well. Neither is my old dog.

Meanwhile, the high temp today was in the low 60's.
Hope everything gets back to normal for you soon!

well, about the power outage: the heat was HORRIBLE, and I certainly could use the cooling vibes you sent my way!But I'm okay now, and everything back to normal. Hope to talk again soon, and I appreciate the letters you sent lately - always like hearing from you, but you know that:))
