Dean and being human

Are there others besides me who were glad Dean didn't have powers, didn't say yes to Michael? Everything Dean was and did to help save the world came about because of his own personal strength and courage and stubbornness and humanity. That's the Dean I adore, and I liked him more in the season ender than I have for two years. Not full of despair or certainty that he has to save the world, but just Dean. The guy is larger than life just as he is, human. I was so glad to see him again.

For me, Dean's amazing strength this episode came when he was comforting Sammy inside Lucifer - even as he was preparing to die he was telling Sam he was right there and wouldn't leave him - hat broke my heart and really demonstrated Dean's strength of character, the power of his love for Sam. His courage shone through - bth there and in the ending when he kept his promise to Sam despite his own wishes.

and how badly is that phrased - I should have just said "iawtc"

It was phrased fine:)

I agree, too. He had lots of strengths in this episode, though. He's always tried to take care of Sam, but he stepped back and let Sam make an agonizing decision. He basically helped his brother kill himself when it was against everything he was ever taught or felt. He literally fought for it, for something that would destroy the both of them, knowing that he'd be the one left behind. No brother, no father. Kills me!

He never quit, not even when it seemed there was nothing left he could possibly do, even when Cas and Bobby quit.

That scene you're talking about broke my heart. I loved that whole back and forth, he was going to stay there for Sam, then Sam coming back to himself and saying, it'll be okay. Those two just have something together.

I adored the fact that in the end, the apocalypse came down to two brothers in a field. No special effects, no fiery maw of hell - just a good man who said he would never leave his little brother, and the memory of love embodied in a single green army man.

I love this show so much, I could just go on and on. I am more of a Sam girl, but I adored both boys in this episode.

I don't see how anyone could help but adore both of them in this:)
