4.1 spn

So apparently we now have a Thursday Night SPN club to watch the show together - and as my girl Cass pointed out, it looks like Sam KILLED that demon. There was no black essence of the demon flying up to the sky - it sank to the ground and burned out or went to black ash or something. How 'bout it?

Yeah. THat was my feeling. Like the demon are not exorcised, but killed.

Hmm....I'll have to watch it again, but it did go down into the ground, like the YED when it left John in first season. My thought was that the demon was simply unwilling to leave, and Sam didn't have enough control/power to really force it out, so he took the "chip away" approach. But that's an interesting theory, that he killed it. Think maybe Ruby lied to him, and he thinks he sending them to hell when he's really killing them? Or is willing to believe he's sending them to hell...

well, I'd think Sam would prefer that he killed them/erased them entirely rather than sending them back to hell, because then they couldn't get back out again to possess other people or hurt them ever again. I just remember looking at it last night and the blackness just seeped down to the ground and then collapsed, at the end.

Hm, I think I may to review that scene with the YED...maybe some other exorcisms, too, for comparison purposes. Thanks for pointing that out!

I thought it was a kill thing too, I don't remember there being smouldering and ashes before...
