*So while I enjoyed this episode, I feel like they missed an opportunity. It would have been very interesting indeed to see Sam have to push past his own feelings about Amy's death to understand instead why Dean might have felt he needed to do what he'd done.*

It would have been great, but I guess they want this secret more as part of an arc of what happens this season. It all depends on how they handle it. I sort of enjoyed the episode, more because of the Js than because of the writing. I wish they could keep something of the intensity going that they brought to the first two episodes of the season.
