day four and counting

Yesterday I put the wet wash out on the porch so it wouldn't mildew. Today I threw out all the food in my freezer and refrigerator. I'm going to help Mom do hers in a few minutes. Luckily her power was turned on late last night, so I'm at her place now. My cats are still at the house, but I brought my dog. The cats don't seem to do badly in the heat, but then we haven't hit 90 deg. since the storms. Apparently it will tomorrow. The cable guy was up the pole in back of my house, and I asked him, why aren't you KUB (Knoxville Utilities Board)? I don't know if he was amused or not. KUB says some of us may be out of power until the middle of next week - that second batch of storms Thursday night set them back. My old dog is with me, and resting much better. Thank you, C, for letting us stay with you last night:) Love you very much.

I live in the heart of Knoxville, urban, crowded, too damn loud. A block away from me is a shopping center, restaurants, etc. I've never lost power for more than a night before.

Thought I might show you some photos before I sign off and get to work. These are taken a couple of days after storm 1 hit, just a block or two from my place.

remember the church that got hit by a tree in April? Another one came down, this time with no damage to the church:

Last but definitely not least, the tin roof house lost the battle here. This is en route to Mom's house:

:-( I lived in Knoxville for a while. I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. I know it's no fun at all, but at least Thumper's with you. :-)

Best of luck for a quick re-powering.

hi, I'm pretty much back to normal, and wanted to thank you for the note last week. We got the power back on Saturday night, but the heat really took it out of us while we waited, and dumped our refrigerator and stuff.

You lived in Knoxville, how 'bout that? Me, I'm ready to go somewhere where I can get a little space, personally:)
