today is my Monday

I had a family tragedy last week. This will be the first day back to work in ten days. I have spent much of my time doing very little. I read some fan fic and became totally immersed and distracted, which can be very good. We humans make our own refuges. I was reading OUTCOME by lamardeuse (Starsky and Hutch, WIP) and SEVEN DAYS IN PARADISE by Karen (Alias Smith & Jones, WIP) and they're both wonderful. I basically stayed up until 3 am on one and then spent the following morning on the other. Instead of doing important things like washing clothes and putting my plants in the garden. Whatever. I'm hoping 7 Days gets finished - it's been awhile, but I sent the author some feedback and got some others in on it as well. She'll probably want to kill me, because I'm a little over-enthused, sometimes. Or who the hell knows, she may appreciate it.

Gotta get back to reading zine stories for submissions. Gotta finish my own (it's finished, in a way, but it needs a go-over and some things added). I wanted to do another one for the zine as well, an AU patterned around the Fix. It might be gen or it might not be, but I want it kind of dark. Zines are really hard work to put together - I don't know how Flamingo has done this for so long. Well, of course I do, she has to love it, right?

I've got a story coming out in some magazine. God the enthusiasm. My story is a reprint, and it's out sometime this year.

Time to go to the salt mines. See if I can get my ass in gear again, back in some routine.

I'm glad to see you back online :) I hope you're coping okay, still thinking about you here. I saw your post yesterday but ended up not responding to anyone at all, due to a weekend spent slaving over a website and therefore developing compete computer-overload. Tonight i gotta catchup on everything i missed yesterday.
It's lunch now, and i spent 15 minutes sitting in the suntrap outside work staring at the sun, so i think i've burnt my face. I love that singed feeling of a lunchtime... :P
