The story should be (1) in one of the YT fandoms, and (2) given to a YT participant. This person doesn't have to be your assignment, although s/he could be.
If I'm reading this post correctly, if it's over 1,000 words, you can post it in the same way as you would your regular assignment. If it is under the minimum, you could still post it but it would have to wait for when the Yuletide Madness collection opens, which is right before xmas.
